General data protection regulations
As you know, our business partner search service aims to enter international markets, which means you will have the opportunity to find a business partner, investor in Europe, USA and other countries.
But in order to go international, you need to know the GDPR - General Data Protection Regulation.
So what is GDPR?
It's a document that allows owners of personal data living in the EU to ask why you are collecting it, where and how long you will keep it, and, if necessary, they can be required to delete it. Personal data is all sorts of information about a person by which you can understand who he is: age, place of residence, gender, etc. The document gives users maximum security and privacy when using services where personal data collection is necessary.
Which companies should implement GDPR?<?h2>
- Companies that have a European presence;
- Companies that collect personal data of people living in the EU;
- Companies that operate jointly with companies that have implemented GDPR and for now must choose an appropriate contractor.
The key provisions of GDPR are.
- Legality and transparency. You need to clearly and affordably explain what you are collecting the data for and how it will be used
- Localization of purpose. You cannot use the collected data for any purpose other than what was originally stated
- Minimal information. You should ask for a minimum of information. Nothing unnecessary
- Data management. The person whose personal information you hold can, at any time, request a copy of everything you have about them. And you must provide it no longer than thirty days later. That person may even ask for all information to be deleted irretrievably.
- Retention limit. Data should not be kept longer than necessary. From time to time, you should delete data that is not being used.
- Security. It is forbidden to share personal data with third parties.
If you are planning to take your business internationally, specifically to EU countries, you should study the GDPR in more detail and go for it! Good luck!
