Construction of auger MICRO-HEPPs on small rivers of the western part of Ukraine. Connecting them to the general energy system according to the "green tariff" in order to obtain financial benefits.
Project summary
Construction of auger micro-hydroelectric power plants on small rivers of the western part of Ukraine. Connecting them to the general energy system according to the "green tariff" in order to obtain financial benefits . The prospects of this project are related to the growing demand for alternative, environmentally friendly and renewable energy sources . As a way to energy independence of Ukraine. The creation of a network of Micro and Mini HPPs on small rivers of Ukraine, which will reduce the level of missile danger for the energy system. Prospects for integration into the European energy market. Long life expectancy (40-50 years) . And also low competition in the small hydropower market.
The auger hydropower plant is a highly efficient, progressive solution for sustainable and environmentally safe use of water energy.
Application:
1. On small rivers.
2. At the outlet of treated wastewater at water treatment plants
3. On former irrigation dams
4. In place of small and obsolete turbine installations
5. As a replacement for water wheels that have failed
6. As an auger for residual water on an existing empty spillway or dam.
Advantages of screw hydropower plants:
1. High efficiency, up to 85%, with an unstable level and amount of water
2. Efficiency of use with a small potential of water energy, starting with a power of 1 kV,
3. Reliable, accident-free and durable equipment
4. Self-regulating system that automatically adjusts to the amount of water and network frequency
5. Equipment that does not require time-consuming maintenance and cleaning
6. Operation completely without fine grates. At the same time, there are no losses due to the current and the height of the fall
7. Not harmful to the environment (does not change river channels, does not harm local flora and fauna)
8. Optical harmony with the environment thanks to the small size of the units and the shape of the screw mechanism
9. Improvement of water quality due to
The main technical parameters of screw turbines
• Consumption - from 0.1 to 10 cubic meters. m/sec
• Head - from 1.0 to 10 meters
• Angle of inclination - 22 - 36 degrees.
• Screw diameter - from 0.7 to 2 m
• Efficiency - up to 85%
The diameter of the auger depends on such factors
• flow speed
• depth of the reservoir
• the height of the water level difference ( slope angle )
• desired power of water enrichment with oxygen.
Today, hydropower plants are represented on the market of Ukraine by only two manufacturers;
Czech company " GESS-CZ "
ST 3300-7100 Power 90 kW/h. The cost is € 165,141 .
ST 3250-8400 Power 110 kW/h. The cost is € 171,483 .
ST 3850-9800 Power 200 kW/h. The cost is € 231,836 .
The German company " Ritz- Atro GmbH " .
These companies are engaged only in the production of metal components of the equipment (screw turbine, screw chute, bearing structure, cover, other metal parts), the main components such as the electric generator, gearbox, control system devices, from the company " SIEMENS " .
All hydropower plant equipment is made to order. The size and power of the hydroturbine depends on the characteristics of the reservoir, the speed of the current, the depth, the height of the differences, the landscape.
With investments in the amount of € 240,000 involved in the project , it is possible to install a Micro HPP with a capacity of 110 kW / h , with one screw turbine.
With generation by the installation of 110 kW / h , and the declared efficiency of 85%, the daily volume will be 2244kW. At a price of UAH 5.05/kW ( according to the green tariff ), the profit will be;
Per day (2244 kW) - UAH 11,332 .
For a month (68442kW) - UAH 345632 .
For a year (821304kW) - UAH 4147585 .
So, with an investment of € 240,000 ( 1,008,000 hryvnias), the investment return period will be 28 months. Profitability of 41% per annum.
