The Forum of people of respectable age is a PLATFORM to support the implementation and personal development of 50+ people, using Ukrainian and European successful practices.
Project summary
Project concept. Ukraine is one of those European countries in which the population of retirement age is a significant part. There are 12 million pensioners per 10 million able-bodied people in the country. In our country, there is still old legislation that reflects the treatment of retirees as the elderly and offers retirees only social protection and pensions. In cooperation with public organizations, on the initiative of the NGO "Golden Years" since 2017. The city began to develop a strategy for the support and development of people of respectable age, initiated a number of interesting programs and projects, both at the city and at the regional and state levels. The 1st All-Ukrainian Forum of people of respectable age was held, where 1000 people 50+ took part.
Given this, there is a need to form a communication platform that would identify relevant issues for people of respectable age and initiate changes to outdated legislation in Ukraine.
The forum is the best platform where you can share best practices, experience, develop current areas of work for people of respectable age.
Mission. The vision of the Forum project is to reveal and preserve the life potential of people of respectable age, to promote their self-realization in all spheres of life to meet personal needs, preferences, involvement in governance, guardianship and open self-expression for harmonious development of civil society and local government in Ukraine . Involve people of respectable age in the processes of community and state governance by teaching methods and tools of public administration. Develop a network of centers that would meet the needs of people of respectable age in their development, non-formal learning, self-expression, presentation of talents and opportunities, leading a healthy lifestyle. The forum will help to deepen respect for the elderly, understand their resources, life potential, the desire to consolidate efforts at all levels.
Purpose and objectives of the project The project provides for the II All-Ukrainian Forum of people of respectable age and the International meeting-festival of opportunities of people of respectable age "Golden Years" (held annually since 2017).
During the Forum, which will bring together more than 500 participants from all regions of Ukraine and beyond, the following panels will be presented: international experience and cooperation , non-formal education , meeting-festival of new opportunities "Golden Years" ; strategy of support and development of people of respectable age ; "The state is me!" ..
