Project summary
Musical Instrument with Chromatic Keyboard
An MVP of a musical instrument with a "New Chromatic Keyboard" (NewCKey) is being created in accordance with the Ukrainian patent for a utility model, which belongs to the author. Subsequent testing of NewCKey should confirm the feasibility of its promotion to the international market. The background of the commercial part of the project is as follows.
In the mid-19th century, experimental piano models with a chromatic keyboard entered the piano market in Europe and America, and in 1875, a book [1] was published in Germany describing its features. Currently, instruments with a "Neuklaviatur" are created and used only by individual enthusiasts. For this purpose, some of the keys in modern electronic instruments with a MIDI keyboard are replaced with new ones.
However, this way you can only get some of the advantages inherent in the "Neuklaviatur". These advantages are important for those who want to independently and with minimal time to learn to play the notes on a keyboard instrument. It is for this reason that after [6] several dozen of their varieties were patented. And the book [1] was republished in 2009 and 2010.
But the maximum benefit from "Neuklaviatur" can only be obtained by using "rationalized" notation [2, 3, 4, 5]. In the pre-computer era, converting an array of musical notations made on paper was unrealistic, but, as suggested in [3, 4, 5], it was possible in the future. The author of this project has developed an algorithm for converting existing MIDI files into a new system of musical notation.
The sustained interest in instruments with a chromatic keyboard suggests that instruments with the NewCKey will also be in demand among buyers. At present, unlike in the 19th and 20th centuries, there are no technical obstacles to the implementation of this project.
